I am thinking of getting these machined out to 2.02's and using them on a freshly built 350. I will be running a Holley 650cfm carb and an air gap intake with an additional 2" throttle body spacer.

They actually ran very well. The 327-300 engine used the double hump heads, with larger 1.94" and 1.5" valve size, larger port intake manifold with larger Carter AFB carb, and larger dump ram's horn exhaust manifolds. The basic shortblocks of the two 327s were basically the same. More than likely your block number is 870.

The #462 has got the normal approx. 64cc chamber and the #461 (x) has got a bit smaller one with approx. 60,5cc. Just as Scooter said. So with the same pistons you get more compression (=power or problems... with the #461 (x) heads.
